Pros
Usually with a group of people that end up being your family. Hiring process is pretty smooth. The job will test you and ultimately give you a strong understanding on how to deal with people from all walks of life.
Cons
You get stuck working the jail for 2 plus years until they can send you to get officially certified (if you aren't already). So if you are looking for a quick transition this is not the place for you. Management is pretty poor at the lower levels.
