Pros

•you create your schedule as long as you get all of your work done •truly helping families and making a difference with each visit

Cons

•limited ability for growth, will not give consistent pay increases or raises •if you ask for a raise, they’ll say no •you work year round (not a standard school year) and get paid significantly less than you should - compensation is NOT competitive •they do not make individuals feel valued or wanted. They have a mentality that everyone is replaceable and you can feel it. •High staff turnover •unlimited self care time is not as straight forward as it seems - you must make up for your time off with clients and families, so you’re working double the week before or after taking time off •leadership is out of touch and doesn’t know day the day happenings within the organization

Pros

ChildStrive puts in an effort to have values and principles that support employee wellbeing, although some programs or benefits miss the mark.

Cons

The Unlimited Paid Time Off benefit is tricky because leadership does not model taking much actual vacation time, but rather models it as a flexible work schedule. Because of low pay, if you have a spouse or second income you can afford to work here, but it is very hard to do so as a single parent. While ChildStrive has certain guiding principles like Restorative Practices they do not always live up to modeling this with their own staff. Depending on which department you are hired into there is not much room for growth and not a lot of interest in developing each employee.
