Pros

Wonder mission statement. Great Direct Care staff. I worked there in Senior Management for greater than 14 years. I was in love with my job until there was a huge influx of mid management level employees throughout the organization. I watched the direct care staff environment descend into oppression. I couldn't watch anymore.

Cons

HORRIBLE middle management. Hired just because they have a degree in business. The poor direct care staff is at their mercy. Directors are out of touch with direct care staff's daily challenges with poor managers who do not guide. They dictate without full comprehension or appreciation of helping and encouraging subordinates to be successful.

Pros

-great managers -non-interpreting staff very familiar working with an interpreter -policies and expectations set for most situations -exceptionally developed department (which includes a senior director) relative to other hospitals, which often lack even a basic interpreting department

Cons

-work volume; often few breaks, definitely not enough to do anything other than work-related tasks (e.g., study for class, make a personal phone call) -inflexible schedule -work flow heavily dependent on coworker proactivity -leadership structure (managers over leads over interpreters) can result in micromanagment
