Pros
Health, vision, dental benefits are okay
Cons
If you want a hostile, unsupportive and unprofessional work environment; apply to work at CCS. CCS will promote and support you only IF they like you. If the people at the main office like you then you will receive new positions, raises and whatever you request. CCS will take a special interest in you as long as you are making their jobs easier, but they wont compensate you adequately to do so. There are no supervisions/trainings for management staff and procedures/policies are often rolled out in an unorganized manner. When clarity is requested you are often belittled and dismissed unless the “right person” feels the same way. Expect to be challenged by people without degrees or experience in your field daily. Favoritism is definitely a HUGE issue and if you think you would ever be able to voice your opinion, provide clarity or defend yourself... you won’t. CCS has failed to respect their employees and lack professionalism and basic courtesy to their employees. CCS claims to be a “transparent” agency however the supervisory/director level staff do not benefit from this. Be prepared to be in unsafe work conditions and be expected to perform without any issue or complaint. Staff at the main office are blatantly disrespectful and it shows when they fail to read and adequately respond to emails and phone calls. Unfortunately Director level staff do not receive supervision, support and job development to be able to manage their employees and programs. In regards to HR: CCS needs to work on building a solid and knowledgeable HR and upper management team. They don’t understand nor have they worked in the field to be knowledgeable or aware of basic shelter job duties and responsibilities; thus imposing unrealistic standards to their employees. A thorough review & revamping needs to be done of the agencies hiring processes. HR representatives need to be trained on customer service and should show everyone respect. HR may or may not send you individuals to interview that have little to no experience in the field or for their job description and you are bullied to hire them. If not, upper management retaliate against you and add additional job requirements that are not the same for each individual in the same position. Employees are low balled on their salary and the agency does have the funds to pay their staff well. You are expected to do the job of 5 different people on one salary and don’t you dare ask for assistance! You will be labeled as “stupid” or receive a rude condescending response blaming you for reaching out. Daily, you will be subjected to an environment that is filled with gossip, disrespect and disregard for the well being of the clients and the staff. Staff are sleeping with each other on and off site resulting in even more favoritism. Staff are sexually harassed by supervisors and the issues are not addressed or resolved. RA’s and CM’s are able to tell their supervisor what they will and won’t do and when addressed, HR nor upper management will assist. If you are friends with the people at the main office you can do whatever you want. Many things are hidden from the CEO and when brought to light he is often too busy or completely lost on what has occurred. Do not expect the main office or HR to have your back because they don’t care about their employees or the clients in which the agency serves. Staff will conspire with the main office and others to get rid of people or to build fraudulent cases. So much gets covered for certain people and the main office is well aware of what is going on.
