Pros

I have worked at Childrensalon for over 5 years and LOVE it. It is the best job I have had, I have worked for other companies both large and small and will not be leaving Childrensalon to return to them anytime soon. I see the negative reviews and note that from the "tone" and "wording" they are most likely left by the same person who having been on the end of one of her rants I can only say I am happy they no longer work here. If bullying was a job then they would excel and bullies do not prosper at Childrensalon. I have worked in London and had to leave 2 hours (on a good day) before work to get in and get home 2 hours after my long shift finished my 20 minute drive to head Office is a JOY compared to that , the fact that I get the same pay as London and see my kids more is even better.. (the benefits are better than previous jobs also) My management are amazing and always push me to make more of myself and help me in grow in my job and as a person. I love that I get the opportunity to volunteer for charities in work time and that making the odd cake for the office will raise money for local people less fortunate than my family. FYI my manager is not a family member nor is her manager! I do have to work bank holidays but hey this is a retail company and that is expected. If you dont like it go get a job in an office (most of which are now opening longer and longer and more and more days) Every day is different and like any job you get the odd "bad" day but even on a bad day everyone pulls together and has a laugh. The staff here tend to stay and progress, it is rare for people to leave unless they are asked to (like the bully I referred to earlier) I have seen people come join a department quite and shy worried about their job (because of bad experiences elsewhere) and settle in to the Childrensalon way and blossom. It is a multicultural environment that allows people to grow and thrive. I challenge the negative reviewers that perhaps they were the wrong fit and perhaps the nasty diatribe they spew out says a lot more about "them" that it does Childrensalon and the 288 staff they employ

Cons

The continual search for a fork

Pros

Great place to work! Having spent several years at this company, I can confidently say it is an exceptionally positive place to work. Like any organisation, it has its critics—those quick to highlight flaws in management’s decisions. However, this is natural; identifying faults often comes more easily than recognising the effort involved. Despite challenges such as redundancies and restructuring, the company’s resilience and spirited culture remain strong. The management team is outstanding; even in the face of their own difficulties, they provide unwavering support, making our days more enjoyable—and the workplace continues to thrive with its humorous, lively atmosphere. Overall, I am grateful for the experiences and opportunities I have gained here.

Cons

Like any workplace, this company likely has its disadvantages; however, I appreciate the complimentary coffee, paid breaks, and weekends off. Support is available when required, and we share humorous moments as a team. As a diligent individual, I choose to focus on the advantages.

Pros

Great colleagues who work incredibly hard and genuinely support one another.

Cons

Poor leadership and a lack of clear strategic direction have contributed to repeated restructures, redundancies and continuing net losses. Those of us who remain are expected to manage increasingly high workloads with limited recognition and little to no opportunity for progression. Employee morale is very low and many employees are feeling no confidence in the company's future. The atmosphere across the business has become increasingly negative, and many are simply staying until they find an opportunity to leave.
