Pros

Good vacation, sick-time, health, dental benefits. You work with some really great people who are driven to make a difference in children's lives.

Cons

The mission is not being fulfilled when a majority of your employees live in poverty due to the extremely low pay that does not match up experience and education that is necessary to obtain certain jobs. There is no negotiating a raise even after 1-year put into a job so many leave after than 1 year mark and many before. Being understaffed is a constant. Additionally the "merit-based bonus" system is a joke and if you work hard enough to be promoted that year you are not eligible for a bonus. Some upper management are disrespectful towards employees which seriously needs to be looked at considering it doesn't match with our core values.

Pros

Benefits are decent. There is a good group of folks that are supportive and fun to work with.

Cons

The organization does not have a stable leadership team and has an enormous impact on the staff and the kids' education. Consultants were hired to try to do damage control with the charter school. Favoritism plays a huge part in staffing. But most concerning is the poor financial decisions and the lack of budget planning which affects staff and the kids. Toxic behavior is ignored.
