Pros

Corporate culture is strong in some aspects and everyone works hard within. Internal promotion opportunities are always available and if you're flexible with what you do and mobile the doors open even more. Professional development is the major positive. I would recommend Cintas from a leadership job standpoint if you are looking for a good opportunity to grow professionally but don't expect the salary to remain competitive.

Cons

As a Regional Health & Safety Coordinator, the position can cover expansive territories requiring up to 70% travel. Compensation for this position is not adequate and you are paid within the same wage scale (which is not published) regardless of territory size and travel requirements. This is evident with engagement surveys. The results of which are discussed for a month or two and then nothing for months after as it seems to die off. When leaving the company and changing positions for something else, management pretty much ignores you. No call from corporate directors to express appreciation for a job well done, expectations and goals exceeded - nothing. No call on your final day from your boss to express anything. No exit interview provided either which is written in corporate policy so any good or constructive feedback has no outlet and goes unsolicited. When you decide to move on to better opportunities or to focus more on family, you go out like a mouse and nothing more than a number. Cintas pay of frontline workers is adequate in some areas and inadequate in others. As a whole, Cintas needs to understand it's markets much better with regards to compensation north and south in the organizational structure.

Pros

The Commission is great. You can make good money in this place.

Cons

While the pay is good, the culture here is not. It is incredibly restrictive. It is very much a “Do what I want you to do, how I want you to do it, and when I want you to do it” management style. They constantly remind you of how much money you can make there which gets annoying after a while. The service team and the sales team are constantly at odds. Not just Cintas, but the industry in general is very sleazy, much like a car dealership. They screw over their smaller customers with enormous year over year price increases. I know a particular salesperson who is having a lot of success their who has no problem lying to his customers, and never answering their calls when the problems come. As long as he keeps the deals coming Cintas does not care. Corporate greed is on full display at Cintas. The Management Development program for college graduates seems like a great opportunity. If you are a young college graduate and you get the opportunity, I would recommend that.
