Pros

One of the biggest advantage are the flexible working hours, Beside this, not so much else.

Cons

Where should i start. Remember, this is a start-up: * the main philosophy of the company is: the cheaper the better. * the level of micromanagement is incredible, resulting in spending more time in meetings than actually doing something. Some "small level managers" can be 35 hours out of 40/week busy with meetings. * outsourcing is the main way of work, leading to delays, chaos, misunderstandings, and finally, nothing to be done properly and on time. * the company have a main axis (the goal that they would like to achieve) but for some reason, everybody seems to go on his own directions. To make an analogy, imagine releasing 30 chickens on one end of a huge field hopping that they will go to the chicken coops on the other side of the field, by themselves, while the CEO is expecting eggs from the chicken coop.

Pros

My direct line manager was somewhat invested in trying to bring the teams together and try working things out. Good mentor.

Cons

This company lives off of micromanagement. It is pushed to extremes sometimes, which enables a toxic culture packed into a box of “We are friends and we help each other”, in order to somehow force the startup belief system. Most targets for quarters are unstructured and unbalanced and they are never met. No consequences whatsoever when a target is not met. Growth mindset? More like shut your eyes on any inconvenience. C-level is blinded by their own (bad) ideas and are incredibly critical to actually good objections from their personnel. Speaking up is mostly punished. Most communication is big startup bingo blabla. I never in my life was triggered more by the overuse of startup vocabulary… “Let’s take this offline” in an entirely physical meeting? Facepalming… Often shouting about “If you don’t belong here and you know it, just leave!”. Not a great way to minimise an inflated turnover. But that’s fine, we can find cheap personel, because everything has to be cheap. Simply put: This company felt more like a scam, than an actual company wanting to change the world.
