Pros
very flexible on work time, good compensation for on-Call, nice office
Cons
micro management, too much management involvement & dictation in technical decisions and daily work, not properly included into Cisco (always felt like an forgotten outpost), resilient against industry standard technologies & methods & systems, patching stupid & fundamentally broken systems instead of replacing them with proper ones, too much on-call, local management had no say or information on what upper management is doing or deciding, Cisco treating people and contractors really bad when the earnings call is around the corner, not using external services and providers but trying to build in-house and fail hard, being a miserable open source citizen, not giving resources for proper testing & automation
