Pros
For plant personnel it's good pay for pretty easy work. While it's very physical, there's not much to it. For office personnel, there might be a lot to learn to do the job well, but there's friendly people and it's more customer service than sales.
Cons
There is no room at all for advancement. The supervisors in the plant expect people to know everything within a week, lose their patience if you don't and then work around you rather than training you and helping you learn how to do the job. It's a gossip minefield full of back stabbing, masochistic people that are supposed to be in supervisors and managers that do nothing but undermine and belittle people while wondering why people give them the cold shoulder or don't want to interact with them.
