Pros

Very hard to think of any pros.

Cons

I would recommend that anyone applying at City Projects does their due diligence in researching the company. In my opinion this company is a total boy's club where certain sexist behaviours are allowed and even encouraged. Use of religion by the owner in the work environment, which I personally find hypocritical as he often participates in sexist comments. - No overtime pay (banked hours are at regular pay) - 9 hour shift - Dust, smells, no proper ventilation - Inappropriate behaviours are allowed towards women and immigrants - Very high turn over, even for construction

Pros

I started working with city projects back in 2013. I was 17 year old at the time fresh out of high school not knowing where my life was heading to. City projects took me as an apprentice and showed me everything I know. It all started from demolition then I learned framing, drywall, tbar, glass, doors and frames, much more. I have learned more than what is on our scope of work. We sometimes take on specialized work as well. 3 years later at 20 years old I started running small jobs. The jobs got bigger and bigger over the years. Now I’m 26 years old running the biggest jobs in the company. Over the years a skill i have been able to achieve with this company is construction management. They not only teach you how to work but they teach you how to manage and become a leader. If you are a hard worker, show respect and care for your work, they treat you like gold. They put me through school and made me a journeyman. During Covid they had me working my full 8h everyday. It felt like nothing was happening and the pandemic never affected my work. The only reason I am leaving the company is because over the years I started loving construction management a lot and I have decided to take my management skills to the next level. Going to school for project management and will be a site superintendent in the meantime.

Cons

Pros

I worked with City Projects close to a year I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've have had in my career. I worked as an Administrative Coordinator and Accounting Assistant also briefly taking on the role of Bid Coordinator, working closely with the Operations Manager, Accountant and the President of the Company. The President gives candid, constructive feedback to his employees and, in turn, actively requests feedback from them. I was provided clear direction and consistent, valuable performance feedback from him at all times and I am so very grateful for that. This Company wants you to do well in your career. They offer excellent Apprenticeship programs for those on the field. The pay rate is is great to start with room for growth. I was lonesome to leave this company but I have made life long friends and I learned so much. Thank you City Projects and I wish you all the success for the future.

Cons

I found no cons working with City Projects.
