      Pros

      City Year is unique in that it challenges you and presents new opportunites for growth. Giving a year of service can be as rewarding or dissatisfying as you make it. In Los Angeles the sites leadership is truly amazing, supportive, and professional. The absolute best reason to work for City Year is because it is meaningful work and surrounds you with incredible people.

      Cons

      Extremely long hours, usually 8am-6pm often longer. Really low pay. Varying levels of ability among coworkers.

      Community, connection, support, and its a great place for recent graduates to go until they figure the next step.

      You won't make a lot of money.

      Pros

      You do very meaningful work and the staff truly care about you and what you are doing.

      Cons

      School placements can be quite far from where you live, and the days are long (7:30 am - 5 pm). Often is exhausting, but you stay for the kids.
