Pros

I love working at CityVet because of the flexibility of my schedule, positive moral of the team, new and exciting daily tasks, and the ability to spend every day with animals! I learn something new every shift and all of my coworkers are very welcoming to help with any of my questions or concerns. I always have what I need to a well done job and leave every shift with a smile on my face. CityVet rocks!!

Cons

There are not many cons to this job other than the amount of cleaning you are sometimes faced with. The harsh reality of the job is that you’re working with animals; they cannot tell you their wants or needs so you are sometimes surprised with a bit of a mess to clean up. Whether that’s cleaning up an animals accident, vacuuming excessive amounts of hair, or scrubbing a few kennels, there’s always something to clean!

Pros

One of CityVet's greatest strengths is its servant-minded leadership. Leaders are genuinely invested in supporting veterinarians and their teams, providing the resources and guidance needed to help them succeed. If you want to be part of the Hospital Support Team, you must believe in a collaborative, solution driven approach. There are meaningful opportunities for career growth across the organization. Many members of the support team began their careers working in CityVet hospitals, demonstrating the company's commitment to promoting from within and developing its people.

Cons

While CityVet offers significantly more clinical autonomy than many corporate veterinary organizations, it is not the same as being a sole practice owner. Decisions are made through a partnership model that balances individual clinic preferences with the company's overall brand standards and business strategy. If your goal is complete independence in every operational and business decision, this may not be the ideal practice model for you. Unlike many corporate veterinary organizations, CityVet empowers its clinics with a high degree of autonomy. Partner veterinarians are trusted to practice medicine in the way they believe is best for their patients and work collaboratively with leadership, rather than operating under a one-size-fits-all corporate model. This can be a challenge for support when trying to say "Yes" as much as we can without causing issues for other locations.

Pros

CityVet is a company that genuinely invests in its people and culture. The leadership team is approachable, transparent, and committed to growth without losing sight of what makes the organization special. There is a strong sense of purpose behind the work, and employees are given opportunities to contribute, grow professionally, and make an impact. The collaborative environment, focus on quality medicine, and commitment to supporting both teams and clients make it a rewarding place to work.

Cons

Like any rapidly growing organization, there are times when processes, systems, and communication need to evolve to keep pace with the business. Growth can create shifting priorities and occasional ambiguity, which may be challenging for employees who prefer a highly structured environment. Teams are often moving quickly, so adaptability is important.
