Pros

If you want to be involved in one of the few growing sectors this is a great place to work. There is a great opportunity to grow here. You can literally learn something ever day. Diversified Risk: We train in whatever the market needs so if solar is taking off we focus on solar. That goes with all of our products and service. Hard work is rewarded quickly with promotions and more responsibility (might be a con if you don't like to be held responsible) Everyone, especially Business Development employees, can have upside if they can help make this company a better company. I like that we can help a company find new ways to make money by expanding their services and skill sets, or help an unemployed person develop the skills to be marketable for available jobs.

Cons

The days go by very quickly and you sometimes don't feel you've accomplished everything you need to so you must stay late to complete your tasks. Growing Pains: I've been here almost since the beginning so we've experienced growing pains. If you don't want to work for a very competitive young, yet growing business, this place isn't for you.

Pros

CleanEdison offers a very dynamic work environment. My internship is therefore a very fast-paced educational experience. As a Product Development Intern I was introduced to the world of Product Development and Marketing. I am delegated quite a few daily tasks as well as tasks due at a later date so there is always something new to learn and master. I learned A LOT about developing a product in a start-up environment as well as familiarized myself with the sustainable marketing industry and SEO. I started working for CleanEdison when it was still a start-up and we got acquired halfway through my internship. Therefore we went from a busy, flexible work environment to a more rigorous and organized one. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I consider myself lucky to have experienced both. I was allowed to take the equivalent of a week and a half work weeks worth of days off during my internship which I sincerely appreciated. Also, as a commuter to NYC, it was a huge benefit to be working for a company that understood how difficult it is to arrive precisely at 9 am every morning and who was able to be somewhat flexible with my punch in/ punch out times.

Cons

One of the challenges I experienced was the "learn as you go" approach. It makes for quick learning, but not only is it stressful, but I definitely could have become more efficient and productive much quicker if I had been formally trained, over the course of two or three days, rather than learning different approaches, software, policies etc over the course of one month. Also watch that thermostat.
