Pros

-the work you do is very fulfilling. Calling on behalf of some fantastic organisations and you really feel you’re making a difference. -supportive and friendly team

Cons

-it isn’t easy. 9 hours plus per day on the phones. Not for the faint hearted. -worst of both worlds. Full time hours/commitment (even if you’re part time it isn’t really part time, just a shorter day) but same lack of security as a casual (e.g. no paid leave, no right to due process in disciplinary action) -underlying sense of office politics and management having favourites, I.e. certain people get easier campaigns, others (like me) who don’t cause any ripples get deliberately put on tougher, less suitable campaigns

Pros

Free lunch at the end of the week and the other telefundraisers are friendly

Cons

Management and call coaches are toxic they belittle you and make you feel stupid if you don't understand something in the script or if you're asking for advice on a call. You get in trouble if you go to the toilet to much or for to long and if you're only a few seconds over your break you get in trouble. If you're over break, have to many call refusals, take to long to hang up on answering machines or a few other things your name will go up on the board with the reason for everyone to see. If you go home sick they are so rude about it and just gives you a look that makes you feel bad. Some of the call coaches are just nasty and rude for no reason at all some of them are ok but it's the others that ruin it. They make you feel so stupid for making a mistake. I left because it was affecting my mental health to the point it was also affecting my physical health.
