Pros

I couldn't be happier about my choice to work at ClickUp. When I came across the job posting, I literally got so excited about working at ClickUp and knew that it was the right job for me. Here are some of the things that solidify that working here was the right choice. Major pros: - It is a company that lives by their core values - Team leadership is very hands-on in helping educate (I even got constructive feedback during my interview that shed light into the kind of coaching/teaching I would get as an employee) - Really tight-knit team culture; I genuinely feel like my team has my back - Excellent response to COVID and remote work, watching the onboarding process makes me feel good about the longevity of the company - Committed to helping you succeed with frequent 1 on 1 meetings with team leadership - Clear path towards growth and success - I know that I can achieve and move into a management position instead of that potential just being dangled in front of me as an unachievable carrot to reach for - Freedom to try new things in different areas of the business - Internal transparency about how the company is growing - Management is clearly learning and adding benefits and initiatives to increase employee happiness and retention.

Cons

The learning curve for the platform can be intense. Because it is ever-changing (new features shipping weekly), there are always things to learn. This will never be something you fully master, so if you're looking for a job where you can eventually go on auto-pilot, this is not the job for you. No 401k (yet), but you can earn equity in the company.

Pros

Some smart, ambitious people who you can learn a lot from.

Cons

This place is an unstable, toxic mess, and leadership is largely to blame. The C-suite is full of egos and seems to make goals and quotas up out of thin air, then cleans up the fallout from poor planning and overhiring with layoffs. There have been three company-wide mass layoffs in less than four years, and that doesn’t even include the many layoffs that have happened quietly behind closed doors. The toxicity at the top trickles down through the entire organization. VPs put pressure on middle management, who then pass that pressure on to ICs. The company can’t seem to keep leaders in place for more than six months, which creates constant chaos and confusion. Strategies are always changing, priorities shift every few months, and nothing ever sticks long enough to make a real impact. Promotions seem to be based more on politics, favoritism, and who can make the most noise than on actual performance. The same people get promoted year after year, and many of them seem underqualified for the titles they hold. If you’re good at self-promotion and have the right relationships, you’ll probably do fine. If you’re quietly doing great work, don’t expect the same recognition. HR keeps saying they’re working on improving the promotion process, but I haven’t seen much change. If you’re considering joining the GTM org (especially the operational side) I would think twice. The new leadership loves to talk about transformation, improvements, and exciting changes, but there’s usually very little follow through behind the messaging.
