Pros

Fellow co-workers make every day worth coming into work

Cons

Clive in every way is a Narcissist. He is a: Conversation Hoarder: Loves to talk about himself Master Manipulator: Makes decisions for others to suit his own needs. Boundary Violator: Inserts himself into your personal life, sexual harasses young women False Image Projection: Drives an Aston Martin while under paying 80% of his employees, eats at Houstons every night. Employees that have been at the company for 5+ years can make as little as $22,000/Annually Entitled: If you don't cater to his every need you will be pushed over and forgotten Grandiose Personality: Exaggerated sense of self-importance, believing that others cannot live or survive without his magnificent contributions Negative Emotions: Many narcissists enjoy spreading and arousing negative emotions to gain attention, feel powerful, and keep you insecure and off-balance. They are easily upset at any real or perceived slights or inattentiveness. They may throw a tantrum if you disagree with their views, or fail to meet their expectations. They are extremely sensitive to criticism, and typically respond with heated argument (fight) or cold detachment (flight). On the other hand, narcissists are often quick to judge, criticize, ridicule, and blame you. Some narcissists are emotionally abusive. By making you feel inferior, they boost their fragile ego, and feel better about themselves. (Every word of this definition is Clive)

Pros

The training at Clive and Co is difficult, but exceptional! My proudest moment of my career was celebrating my presentation, and earning the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented hairdressers that I have known. Clive is a wonderful teacher whose precision cuts is unparalleled. Everyone is very supportive. Paid vacations and sick pay is provided. That’s rare in this industry. Clive also offers disability insurance which if needed is a godsend. I have health issues and have been unable to work for almost 2 years. Clive and staff continued to check on me and have been very supportive. I won’t work for anyone else in the hair industry!

Cons

Too busy? Which is a good problem to have.

Pros

I have worked at Clive and Co. for about 5 years now. It took me a bit to find a salon that I wanted to plant roots down in, most salons in Dallas are way too unorganized for my liking. In five years I have learned more than I could have ever imagined. It took me about a year to complete my apprenticeship, and it isn’t made to be easy. This salon runs like a well oiled machine, and when you come to work everyday, you need to make sure you’re ready to WORK! We stay busy all day, every day... and if you’re lazy this is not the salon for you. Clive is truly a great boss, if you tell him your goals in the industry he will move mountains to help you get there. One of my favorite things about this salon is that we are given awesome benefits- paid vacation, paid sick days/holidays, a 401k, health+dental insurance, and a fun work environment. So if you are ready to put in some work and dedication, you’ll love working at Clive and Co.

Cons

You get what you put in, so you are the only one that determines your happiness. if you don’t have a great attitude and put in the hard work, you will probably find some cons. For me I have no complaints, as I have worked in two other salons that were absolute disasters.
