Pros

Some decent people working for the company. Good work life balance.

Cons

Salaries are consistently below market value. Although benchmarking is reportedly conducted, outcomes do not appear to be reflected in actual pay decisions. Communication from upper management is poor, with frequent changes in direction and information that often lacks transparency or consistency. This creates confusion and erodes trust. There is an extreme focus on cost cutting, often at the expense of colleague welfare, recognition, and long-term sustainability. Hard work and strong performance are not meaningfully acknowledged or rewarded. Upper management demonstrates a poor attitude when opposing views or constructive challenge are raised, which discourages open dialogue and feedback. Certain behaviours that many colleagues would consider unacceptable are tolerated in some areas, even when concerns are escalated through management channels. There are very limited opportunities for career development or progression. Promotions are rare and typically only arise when roles are vacated by departing employees. Internal mobility largely depends on moving laterally between departments based on availability rather than structured development. As a result, the organisation feels more like a job than a long-term career. Performance management processes are ineffective, and strong performance is not clearly linked to progression or reward. Systems and processes are outdated, which impacts efficiency and day-to-day working. Overall, this can be a discouraging environment for motivated colleagues who want to grow, develop, and be recognised for their contribution. It may suit individuals who are content to remain in the same role and on the same salary long term.
