Cons
The company was already stingy with annual raises (~2-3% max) but they've just revealed a new comp plan where they are no longer going to provide base salary increases except for select top performers. Instead, merit will be rewarded with one-time bonuses (that will be largely consumed by taxes, etc). When a long-time employee spoke up to point out how the new model is a terrible idea, they fired him same-day for "gross misconduct" with no severance. Most of the senior-level and above engineering staff are already looking for positions elsewhere. You don't want to back-fill any openings here. The company says everyone is family and we're all in this together, but it feels more and more like we're all in this for the higher-ups.
