Pros

There's too many pros to count about working at this company, but here's a few. First off, the company culture is probably the best you'll ever experience. Not once did I experience any ounce of toxicity with anyone. Everyone gets along with each other and even in tough moments, mostly everyone will have each others back, through thick and thin. The pay was competitive and the benefits were fantastic. From a career growth perspective, I was fortunate enough to have started on the Operations department at this company and was given promotional opportunities time and time again, until I became one of the senior engineers in their Professional services department. This company gave me my opportunity to be specialized in AWS and although I was thrown in the fire on complex technical projects, I'm thankful because it allowed me to grow my technical and soft skills. If you're looking for a company to start your career in cloud, this is definitely the company to work for.

Cons

Although I will say the first few years were very positive, the last period was completely different, unfortunately... There was no process from initial agreement to execution in place. I often found myself double-checking agreements that the Sales team would copy and paste from one project to another, which added more work for the project managers and technical staff involved. Sales would vanish after an opportunity was secured, and would only be heard from once or twice throughout the lifecycle of a project. The clients were often very challenging and difficult to work with. The group of clients I was assigned came with unrealistic timelines and expectations. This stemmed from the lack of proper expectation-setting by Sales/Pre-Sales from the start. Expect to tackle tasks you may not have intended to. I often found myself acting as a client's administrator for unrelated software or building integrations that were outside the scope of my expertise, simply due to a vague statement in the contract about "handling the integration." Even though we were specialists in one field, clients would threaten to escalate issues if an engineer was not skilled in unrelated software, adding pressure to learn and manage unfamiliar tasks. This stemmed from poor leadership and failure to set boundaries with clients. Leadership and management had significant issues. I found myself in situations where management involvement could have resolved issues but was lacking unless a client escalated directly. The department meetings were often focused solely on increasing billable work without any substantial support. Monthly check-ins with management felt more like venting sessions without any real outcomes or improvements. Burnout was a significant issue. One piece of advice: always push back and set boundaries when faced with unreasonable demands; otherwise, management may take advantage, leading to the need to work extra hours to complete projects.

Pros

Microsoft Laptop Cool office layout although often empty

Cons

Heavy reliance on AWS - if you don't have an office local, you'll never hear from the AWS reps. Weekly 1:1's with the VP are usually dull with dead air and not much advice besides "how are the AWS relations going" BDR teams are atrocious - 0 meetings set in a 6-month span from the BDR end. Communication with the VP was horrible often going days or weeks without a response on slack/teams. Especially if it wasn't opportunity related Commission structure is rough - no pay until the CLIENT pays which often takes months assuming they do pay and don't end up in collections No Personal Improvement Plan or heads up was given when there was concern about pipeline growth. Teams call was done off camera, no severance provided. Extremely disrespectful and unfortunately shows the true culture of a company in brutal economic times to leave an employee hung out to dry.
