Pros

There is a lot of really good talent that comes and goes. You will learn a lot, some out of exposure, most out of necessity and very little is curated by the actual company.

Cons

The leadership is just abysmal. I experienced Cloudscale through two different views, and both were disappointing. Poor processes, lead by C level individuals who are beyond accountability apparently, taking random time off, mid-project, with poor handoffs and no heads up. There is blatant scapegoating, immature favoritism (a simple disagreement lead to a stripping of titles) and straight up lying on discovery calls around how much experience everyone has with everything brought up in the sales cycle. It felt like there was absolutely no plan every time a new project was drawn up. There were a few people that made life there just absolutely horrible and completely unprofessional, who were ironically people that you report these types of issues to. Cursing, making inappropriate jokes, and being assigned a semi-technical project management role with 0 technical aptitude, really made it a hostile environment. Lastly, everything was done behind closed doors and through obfuscation of the business/zero transparency, and projects were kicked off without much handoff or discussion.

Pros

Working at CloudScale offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technologies (specifically in generative AI and automation). The environment is highly innovative, constantly challenging and expanding our skills in these advanced fields. This not only leads to significant personal and professional growth but also keeps the work intellectually stimulating. The collaborative culture enhances our learning experience and broadens our professional network. Additionally, the impact of our work in reshaping industries and pioneering new technological solutions is incredibly rewarding, providing a strong sense of accomplishment and purpose.

Cons

However, the job comes with its challenges. The fast-paced and project-driven nature of consulting isn't for everyone. The need to stay abreast of rapidly evolving technologies in AI and automation requires learning and adaptation. The variety of projects, while often exciting, can not be a good fit for some people. With new technology client expectations can be high, we often have to be guides and provide education for customers.
