Pros

Make friends from all over the world , the camaraderie is usually good between “GO’s” because we’re all going through the same trauma

Cons

Club med practices are deceiving . You don’t just do your “day” job you have to eat both meals with guests / do arrivals and departures / mingle and “party” with the guests and whatever odd activities your management decides to make you do . You don’t have personal time and all after hours duty are not paid they are considered “the GO lifestyle” so that’s their excuse for not paying you but you HAVE to do it so it’s realistically unpaid work. As choreographer I could only start to do my real job after midnight to conduct rehearsals as everyone has to mingle with guests. Your typical day starts at 8:30 am and ends around 1 - 2 am 6 days a week. If you bring up any challenging views to management you will quickly be shut down. How clubmed conducts its buisiness is illegal and should be investigated. People who are in management positions have been working in the coubmed bubble for too long and completely out of touch of the real world so they perpetrate these mal practises and justify it by the fact that “it has always been this way”

Pros

Travel and health benefits. Previously offered remote work, which helped offset the low pay.

Cons

Pay is below the industry standards, incentives are only offered to a top sales individuals, and there is little opportunity for advancement. These issues were more manageable when they offered remote work. Employees now are required to commute to the office 3 days a week which adds financial and personal hardship. The office is small and loud and full of distractions. Morale has noticeably declined since the return to office. Every employee including management is unhappy and it shows. It is depressing.
