Pros
The management in my department is very helpful. Coming from retail, I made very little income and felt used almost, most people don't make it very far in the retail industry. However, when I came to CoBiz I was surprised to see how much I was going to make and the fact that I was given the opportunity to work at the bank without any banking experience, the company treats their employees fairly well. I'm usually a very open minded person when it comes to creating relationships with my colleague's, so getting along with my coworkers along with other individuals in other departments was very easy, you're experience at CoBiz is what you make of it, if you're miserable and not happy then that's going to be what you experience. If you're happy and like you're job you're experience within the company is going to be positive.
Training:
Management is different at every location, the managers I had at my location were very helpful in training me, many of my colleagues were a big help as well. I was first trained for two weeks by just watching my coworkers, and then my manager allowed me to start doing things with watchful eyes, she made me feel comfortable! Training was work at my own pace, She allowed me to extend my training as long as I wanted to ensure that I was comfortable before allowing me to step out on the floor.
Pay:
If you're use to getting paid above the minimum wage average in Colorado, than the hourly may not be a surprise to you. However if you're looking into moving to CoBiz, and you're coming from a low paying job, the hourly pay rate is very alluring. The hours are pretty upfront when they list it. It's not like most jobs where your hours will very. Here, you're work schedule hours are very solid.
Coming from retail , you're expected to meet quotas every week and if not you could face the risk or being cut, even some teller bank jobs at other company's adopted the same system. However at CoBiz, there are no quota's its very easy and laid back. As long as you follow the procedures for each transaction and how to process them correctly the job is over all pretty easy!
I recommend creating relationships with other department managers, you're chances of moving up will become bigger, especially because the company offers many growing offers.
Overall, the job allow you to still have a social life, pay your bills, and still live comfortably.
