Cons
This place is so toxic, I’m glad I’m gone. From the gold lists where we don’t even know who our customer is so we’re calling on affordable communities every month, to the useless fire drills, being a sales rep at apartments.com was soul sucking. Fighting for commissions with other reps who lie and cheat and management who does nothing as they prefer to “pick their battles” even if they know the other person lied. Costar only bought apts.com for the data so good luck with new products or anything, it's a stagnant business. I was also involved in a sexual harassment claim that was verified by many different people and nothing ever came from it. No follow up. Nothing. The data in costar was awful, clients would laugh at me in meetings as I presented their own data to them in the comparable reports that was completely wrong. I hope the board replaces Andy as the company is going downhill because of his ego and old ways of doing business. The entire market hates costar and apartments.com but are forced to use them, not a good long term business strategy when your employees and customers both hate you. That was changing with apartments as many competitors were gaining ground quickly or realizing that apts.com was just not worth the money, especially in this market with occupancies at their highest levels in years (a fact that Andy REFUSED to believe). I had ptsd for six months after leaving but have finally recovered. If you decide to work here, good luck, your mental health will suffer because of it. Don't say you weren't warned with all these bad reviews.
