Pros

The mission isn't just something that that is just talked about, you feel it in the actual work and hear it in the student stories. Students and communities are the through-line for every decision, which makes it easy to stay motivated. I have a lot of autonomy over how I work and what I focus on, and the people around me are genuinely collaborative. Knowledge sharing is big and folks are generally always willing to pitch in and lend a hand. Also worth calling out that this org takes AI seriously in a practical way. People have actually built it into how they work and are continuously striving to be better at it. Some of the smartest people I've ever worked with. We have some great partnerships built out as well and the opportunity for impact really feels like its always getting bigger.

Cons

The pace and ambition are high, which I personally enjoy, but it can be hard to keep up when scope keeps growing without anything coming off your plate. We run like a tech start up and you have to be comfortable with ambiguity and willing to advocate for yourself when priorities start to pile up. The bar is high and if you're not excited to exceed it then this probably won't be the right place for you.

Pros

Employees are trusted to manage their own work with a high degree of autonomy, you're given ownership over your responsibilities without unnecessary micromanagement. I feel an ability to achieve work/life balance while still completing my main responsibilities. The work has visible impact on the students and communities being served, which makes the mission come to life. People are generally easy to work with here and are aligned on how we can help each other with our tasks.

Cons

At times, there can be a disconnect between the pace that's expected and the pace that's actually achievable. Moving quickly is sometimes treated as a given, but the internal ability to execute at that speed isn't always in place.
