Toxic leadership exhibits the following: - Verbal Aggression: Mocking, sarcasm, and belittling. - Humiliation & Shaming: Ridiculing employees in front of colleagues and public shaming disguised as feedback. - Manipulation & Gaslighting: Telling fabricated stories about employees to colleagues behind their backs. Telling employees they did things that never happened. - Undermining & Sabotage: Withholding necessary information, setting impossible expectations, and setting employees up for failure. - Excessive Control: Intense micromanagement, close monitoring of employee activity, and controlling work and personal choices like dress. - Blame-Shifting: Refusing to take responsibility and blaming employees for their own mistakes or outbursts.
