Pros

Small, 'friendly' environment. New staff members were treated for lunch. Developers often worked on different projects each time, so you didn't get tied down to one project. Developers often sat together, so we could share ideas and discuss without interrupting lets say the project manager.

Cons

Poor planning from top management, unclear pipeline, forever changing budgets and resources, which in turn annoyed the client. Poor management, a recent graduate was promoted into a 'supervisor/managerial' role, with no training, bad attitude and little support from senior management, however the individual was capable of doing the work (minus the managerial side). Sales manager was abrasive and quite often rude, this could be the nature of a salesman. Developers were confined in 1 room, 1 window, if 1 developer got sick, we all took turns. HR were incapable of dealing with the body odur issue and insisted that someone should use febreeze as they was nothing they could do! 2 toilets for men, 1 toilet for females, there were more than 40 of us using these toilets, which were not cleaned often enough, and had poor ventilation. This was a breeding ground for infections. Location: middle of nowhere off the A12, limited places to get lunch/walk/sit. Terrible phone signal, o2 network and EE. No parking.
