Pros
- Chance to work with a wide berth of clients and industries - Plenty of teaching aides available - Lack of micro managing (likely due to sheer size of the company) - Relaxed hybrid/wfh options
Cons
- The company makes generic, blank slate decisions and "processes" that are easier to roll out to 400k employees rather than tailor them to what's actually needed or useful. They're not going to change because they simply don't care, but you can work on changing things....if you've got the time - Along similar lines as the above, because the company is international there are hurdles to overcome from miscommunication. Not necessarily language or cultural barriers, but things as silly as having to pay for checked bags on American airlines but not other airlines, so the expense team assumes that all bags are for free and then they repeatedly deny your expense report because apparently no one has told them we have to pay for checked luggage in the states. It's alarming the number of times I ran into something similar - Your manager could be located in a totally different part of the country. Getting face time with them beyond zoom can be difficult.
