Pros

Its employment and the benefits are good

Cons

This is an Indian company and it's a huge part of their culture. I would not recommend Americans to cognizant. It's just a world of difference in culture and how people are treated. There is so much operational and political problems just to get staffed on a project. They lay people off, tell them they are going to rehire them, and then you will never hear from cognizant ever again. The bench is a huge problem. You could be qualified for so many opportunities and literally only be able to apply to dirt jobs. There were so many promises made by cognizant that were NEVER kept. Extremely poor communication. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing

Pros

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Cons

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
