Pros

Consistent management performance. Not that attractive, but comparatively better work environment than most IT Services competitors. Fast track to management opportunities if you have the right mix of personality, communication and confidence. VISA & Immigration processing. Strong suite of internal tools, at least on the availability side.

Cons

Compensation policy is very deeply flawed. Promotion process is skewed every year to suit the 'Bell Curve'. Customer feedback records on performance are altered to manager's needs. Cost is balanced by keeping salaries low and yielding high shareholder returns while executive compensation is bloated. Certain engagements and their margins are obscene. True, bloated profiles does happen. Want work life balance? go elsewhere. It's insane. Salaries are revised once in 5 to 6 years.

Pros

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Cons

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
