Pros

Very large array of e-training is available Work-from-home Mostly left alone to do my job

Cons

I was at a company that was under 1000 people that was bought up by Softvision (which is part of Cognizant). Not only did Softvision have a horrible time integrating my former company into itself, Softvision isn't truly integrated with Cognizant. I went from a company where the CEO and most of the C-level folks knew everyone's name. In my case, the CEO and C-level folks knew me personally because of my roles in the company over time. At Cognizant Softvision I wouldn't even consider myself a cog in the machine, people like me are more like the grease between the cogs in the machine. And in many ways, that is the way it would have to be for a company with +300k people. Being told our reviews and raises are going to be delayed six months because Softvision is finally integrating with Cognizant.

Pros

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Cons

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
