Pros
Enjoyable work. Cheap and good food in Cafe, free coffee machine. 1 hour break, some of it is paid. leave early on Fridays (if not on shift patterns). 17% extra pay if doing shift patterns (6.00-14.00 then 14:00-22:00 another week). Staff nights out a few times a year with free food and drinks. positive attitudes and great place to work.
Cons
Some disconnect between LSEs and higher ups, though line managers are cool in my experience. Pay is low without the 17% extra. Training isn't the greatest. might not enjoy the shift patterns if you have to do them. Not much opportunity for career growth. Training wasn't very formal. Might assemble the laser rather than align the optics.
