Cons
many companies are beginning to hire a lot of consultants, managers in such companies may not know much about dealing with consultants, it would be great if Collinwood gives them (before sending consultants to them) a general understanding of how things work in the world of consulting and what is expected out of them and what they should ideally expect from the consultant, this would include topics like pay for overtime, unpaid holidays for consultants, daily\weekly no of hours that can be billed, any hours that can be carried onto next day, possibillity of work from home, respecting SOW, contract extension, temp to hire possibility etc.
Discussing the above details with the managers\clients would make life easier for both the manager and the consultant.
401k for consultants is not good as i learned from the 401k company that the consultant has to be with Collinwood for 3 years to get ANY of the money that Collinwood contributes (vested) and chances of doing a consulting job for 3 years in a row would be minimal.
