Pros

Honestly a very solid company that has been around for a long time. They are always very encouraging and want to see you constantly improve. There is a very rewarding feeling when you realize the strong customer relationship you have built and the same customers constantly come back to you for help/advice and most of the time you recommend other products to them to help them manage their finances. Once you get the hang of things people will see that and constantly send referrals your way. Remember that referrals are your best friend in this type of work.

Cons

A lot of the challenges faced here are meeting the individual monthly goals. Some months are great and some are very tough. There are no cold calls but rather warm calls to existing customers. Onboarding calls are something you must get used to in this role because they are critical to your success. I would honestly say it is different at every branch depending on the market. Branch traffic can be very busy at times and you will find that this may prevent you from accomplishing what you have planned for each day. I would recommend strongly communicating with your team. Management can be very difficult to deal with at time because they are responsibly for the branch reaching its monthly goals.

Pros

None - the pay was well below what I was used to making.

Cons

You can include that if it’s true, but it’s safest to present it as your personal experience rather than implying a medical conclusion or making broader claims about the company. Here’s a revised version: Commerce Bank was the worst place I’ve ever worked. I came into the role with years of experience, confidence, and a strong work ethic, but I left questioning my abilities in a way I never had before. The management style I experienced was disparaging, overly critical, and unsupportive. Rather than feeling coached or developed, I felt constantly torn down. The work environment became so toxic for me that I ultimately sought therapy to cope with the anxiety I experienced surrounding work. My anxiety became severe enough that my healthcare provider increased my medication. No job should have that kind of impact on someone’s mental well-being. I recognize that others may have different experiences, but mine was one of the most damaging professional experiences of my career. I would encourage prospective employees to carefully evaluate the leadership and management culture before accepting a position, as it can make all the difference. This version clearly states your personal experience (“for me,” “I experienced”) without asserting that the company universally causes those outcomes. That makes the review both compelling and more defensible.
