Pros

There is much I have learned since the start of my internship at CommunityRoot. As a startup, the environment is energetic and refreshing as it challenged my ability not only to apply my knowledge, but also develop my skills in marketing and business development. The CommunityRoot team is excited to help and is dedicated to the growth and rise of the company. Their passion and motivation to transform the Ed Tech/After School World and create social change has positively impacted me and it is why I would recommend this internship to my peers.

Cons

I have yet to personally experience cons

Pros

You get to pick the hours you want to work, and when you want to do them. They are also flexible with taking time off, and you don't have to commute since it's a remote internship.

Cons

They tell you in the beginning that you can earn commission for leads that go through, but they never tell you if your leads go through, so you don't actually get paid.

Pros

I did a remote internship with CommunityRoot for about 5 months. It was extremely flexible. You can tell your supervisor that you have a super busy week and might not be able to meet the 6 hour minimum, and they always understand. Had weekly phone calls with my supervisor, so that was nice to communicate with someone in the company.

Cons

The company did not seem legitimate. I applied on my school's job website, and the posting was advertised as paid. I was later learned that the internship is commission-based, and within 5 months of "working" there, I did not receive anything. Perhaps none of the leads I researched within 5 months actually did not buy the product, but nonetheless, there was no transparency within the company of communicating this. I also asked another intern if they ever got paid and they did not either.
