Pros

The company runs on the value: if you enjoy what you do, you will do it better. Good work is always rewarded and everyone is made to feel like what they're doing is making a real difference. Training and self-improvement is encouraged and this is definitely a company where those willing to muck-in will succeed. As the company is still relatively small, there is a lot of room for movement, including promotions and just taking on new responsibilities and projects. I have never worked somewhere before where I could chat to the CEO like a friend and raise any ideas or questions without feeling nervous or like I would be judged. Whether it's themed food days, day trips out or Nerf gun fights on a Friday afternoon - this is definitely a very fun place to work. The people are so welcoming and you will not feel like the new guy for more than about 24-hours!

Cons

As Comparenow is so new, there is a tendency to chop and change strategies or projects as things come up or priorities change; however this is to be expected with a 'start-up' style company and can often be more exciting than confusing.

Pros

The environment at Compare is stimulating and more collaborative than any other place I’ve worked. For the most part, leadership embraces critical thinking, which is refreshing, and seems to genuinely care about their employees as people, which is, sadly, increasingly hard to find in the job market. Compare has also done a remarkable job of hiring a lot of bright, motivated people who are fun to work and hang out with.

Cons

If I had to find fault with the company, it would be that many of us feel that management has demonstrated a greater interest in the professional development of employees from sister companies and students from a particular MBA program (that half of the Leadership Team attended), rather than their own employees that have been here contributing to the company’s success for years. So, while they care about their employees as people, management hasn’t always demonstrated respect for them as professionals.

First off, we're really glad you like coming into work each day, that's great to hear. To address the cons, developing talent from within is something that we're taking a particular focus on this year. Furthermore, we send out regular surveys to gauge employee feedback, as well as utilizing anonymous forums like Glassdoor. Thank you for leaving such a balanced and honest view of working at Compare.com. We hope you're here for many years to come!
