Pros
Prompt response to the pandemic and opening WFH for most employees Decent salary, could be higher
Cons
There were a lot of employees who were furloughed and it wasn't communicated to the rest of the company leaving many teams wondering who to contact to continue projects. Those who escaped being furloughed had their pay cut for an undetermined amount of time. This made it difficult for certain households. Leadership was inconsiderate and lacked empathy during that time and avoided any questions or comments during All Hands meetings. There's a lack of diversity not just by race but by work styles, ideas, troubleshooting approaches, communication, etc. Low- and middle-level managers were not accepting of people who didn't think and work just like them. Those who didn't fit the mold were held back for promotions and stretch projects. Obnoxious amount of meetings and 80% of the time is dedicated to chit chat/unrelated to work. There's no strategy from the top down. So a lot of teams are working in silos. The louder the team's leader, the more likely their strategy wins out over the other teams the work with. We also would create a "strategy" once or twice a year and never look at it again. No KPIs, goals, or way to see if we were successful or not. US employees do not get a PTO pay out when they resign. It's legal but unethical because you earn PTO every month.
