The worst job I have ever had! - Food Unit Lead/Marketing/Safety Manager/Other Duties As Assigned Compass Group USA Employee Review

Pros

Work schedule follows the school calendar: Monday-Friday Weekends off Holidays off Winter/Spring break off. Food Service Workers are awesome people!

Cons

Management at Chartwells K12 was extremely wishy washy and would make a decision or statement one day and then, without any communication, change their mind the next day if it suited them better. Management has a "don't rock the boat" philosophy and encourages ignoring issues and violating major policies. Upper management on the chain of command is not a helpful resource either and had a tendency to look the other way. Management was lacking in communication, mentally disorganized and displayed favoritism to select staff members. Management would openly make comments about other staff members, behind their backs, and let it be known that if it "got repeated", they would "deny everything". Overall, not a healthy work environment and the worst job I have ever had. I was not proud to be in this position and frankly it was downright embarrassing! I was not about to go through another year, dealing with this Management, especially since its not hard to find a $20/hour job with much less BS and much better benefits. I take pity on the next person to fill this position.

Pros

Hybrid Schedule. Free food and drinks in office.

Cons

High performers expected to make up for low performers. Pay is below market. Cliquey environment. Bottlenecked at close with extremely long hours. Internally promotes because they would not attract external talent at their compensation package. Management doesn't address employee concerns.
