Working with clients with developmental disabilities is very rewarding and not too overwhelming depending on the client that you serve.

Cons

Some of the responsibilities can get repetitive if you don't find good ways to spend your time when not needed by the clients.

Pros

Working at Compass SLS/ILS has been a meaningful experience for me for the last 7 years. The company truly prioritizes client quality of life, and you can see that reflected in the care and support provided by the teams. There is a strong sense of purpose in the work, and leadership does recognize employees who go above and beyond. I’ve also had opportunities to grow professionally, take on leadership responsibilities, and be involved in projects outside of my direct role.

Cons

The workload can be very heavy and at times feels unsustainable, especially during staffing shortages or crisis situations. Communication is necessary between departments. 24/7 emergency support when on call can also be draining and makes it difficult to fully disconnect or recharge outside of work.
