Pros

Good benefits, decent salary, amazing supporters, important mission

Cons

Since our former CEO, Kim, left we have fallen apart, The chiefs lack strategy and compassion, there have been 4 terminations, 6 layoffs, pointless program eliminations and countless broken promises. Communications is poor, transparency is lacking, finger pointing is high, Two people.have already voluntarily resigned and many of us have resumes on the street, Every day is worse than the day before, The Chief People and Culture Officer is the worst I have ever seen, No compassion, no empathy, no follow through, not a good fit for an organization with.compassion in its name, most of the c-team is out of touch with our supporters, making decisions without considering their ramifications,

Pros

Amazing mission Dedicated and talented staff Great benefits and work/life balance This organization has outgrown its small-nonprofit roots into a big national force to be reckoned with and some more experienced employees have been grumpy and had trouble adjusting to not being able to just walk into a CEO's office anytime they want. As a result some have left and some have been laid off resulting in a much more pleasant and supportive place to work.

Cons

It's a job so just like anywhere else it's not perfect, and it's what you make of it. If you think you're just going to "retire in place" and run out the clock on your career while making a really good salary this place isn't for you.

Pros

Great Mission, very hard working colleagues

Cons

This organization does not always align its practices with its stated values. They have a pattern of laying off senior employees in favor of younger hires, which has impacted diversity. Additionally, employees are sometimes cut off from systems abruptly, and there appears to be a tendency to protect underperforming staff rather than address issues transparently.
