Pros

Conductor is a company that truly cares about the employees that are in the organization. A company culture that embraces and encourages people to be themselves and enjoy going to work every day. Can confidently say it is the only place I've worked that I am excited to come into work and tell people about the work I do every day. This company is built on incredible managers who are not afraid to tell you where you fall short but will also tell you how confident and excited they are for you to improve on those shortcomings and grow into a better version of yourself. They do an incredible job in maintaining a work-life balance and truly focusing on the people in the company in and out of work. Throughout hundreds of applications and experiences from friends and family, I can say that Conductor is one of the happiest places somebody can work. The company and CEO Seth are driven and confident in the platform and industry, and prove that every day. The communication is open and transparent top to bottom.

Cons

The incredible company culture and managers are the reason so many stay, but the reasons people leave are lack of room for growth and career progression, especially in the revenue department. Promotions are slower to achieve than many other companies in the space and the roles are lower paying than similar ones at different companies. Those who leave are usually in search of higher paying roles, more responsibility, or better titles.

Pros

Good experience with the people so far, feel like everyone is generally friendly and it's a small enough company that it's easy to connect with people to learn about their positions. Good experiences so far with managers who are generally warm and friendly. Relatively good work life balance, you work remotely all month of August and you can travel.

Cons

Biggest con personally is the low pay, just among the lowest you can make in a starting position and it takes about 1.5-2 years to scale into a better place as an SDR which is odd to me because its a position that on average folks spend that amount of time in before moving up. I believe it causes higher turnover in the first year as an SDR and would love to see a higher starting pay and clearer path forward to improve motivation and retention. I also wish they had mentioned in the interview that commission is 50% taxed, I understand this is common practice but didn't feel like there was great transparency on this. Lastly, feel like theres an unbalanced approach to in person office culture, it doesn't seem to be applied equally across all teams (for instance the Sales team seems to have the most pressure to be in person, most other teams it seems are are able to work remotely more flexibly). Just makes it confusing when you can ask to work remotely due to weather or personal reasons, only to show up and find that you are the only one in office which can be frustrating and cause unnecessary tension.
