Pros

Things are stable for the most part. You don't have to worry about the company going under, because it's a large organization. Apparently there are a lot of resources if you want to move to different divisions in the company. Health insurance is decent. Some of the folks who worked there (albeit mainly those who were there prior to the company getting bought by Conduent) are very intelligent. Work life balance isn't bad - you can leave the job at work when you go home.

Cons

The company just seems to strive for mediocrity. This becomes apparent very quickly from how much (or little) money they're willing to spend to acquire and retain talent. They seem to prefer having decent engineers that they can get at a deal than good engineers who they'd need to pay competitively. The result is a wholly mediocre organization. Punch in, maintain the status quo, punch out. There is very little innovating going on, because the the high performing employees that you need for that are working at companies that compensate them appropriately.

Pros

Paid on time, provided equipment, decent benefits from day one, nice co-workers

Cons

Sweatshop mentality of the supervisors, threats of demotion/termination for medical leave, random layoffs when calls didn't justify hours, with those same hours shifted to supervisors to keep them active. Unable to print paystubs, had to request everything through a supervisor, and provide copious amounts of private information to have the request honored. Corrosive environment - I left as soon as I got another offer, gave 24 hours notice (and I've never, ever done that before). Unless you're on the verge of homelessness or starvation, avoid at all costs.
