Pros

Came to work at Conde for the all-star talent and commitment to good work

Cons

- Magazines have become “brands.” - All design departments work on one floor, flattening the personality of each individual title and discouraging diversity. It also disrupts the collaborative relationship with Edit staff that’s crucial for the best work. - Editorial designers are given branding and advertising assignments with no increase in salary (and little appreciation). Advertising designers typically make significantly more than editorial designers: now everyone does both for the same low price. - Many layoffs, company appears unstable. Little transparency. Changes are made with no consideration for their impact on lower and middle staff. Internal messaging does not inspire confidence. - Rumors and cattiness abound, which is pretty pathetic. Little direct communication. Mostly uninspiring.

Pros

You’re wealthy enough to be relaxed, but not wealthy enough to be careless.

Cons

but NYC’s costs prevent true luxury unless income is much higher.

Pros

Great to be in proximity to such amazing brands like Vogue, Vanity Fair and the New Yorker

Cons

Pay is absolutely criminal unless you're "bonus eligible." Another billion dollar company crying poverty. Also, absolutely zero possibility of advancement.
