Pros

This company has many great attributes. Most of the people are really wonderful, and the CEO seems to care about what happens in the company and truly values everyone. You can bring your dog with you to work daily (if they are well-behaved), have unlimited time off, nerf-gun wars, and many fun social gatherings. Since it's a smaller company, there is room to express your innovative ideas and have them implemented. Health benefits are a nice perk here.

Cons

In my opinion, there is some pretty heavy toxicity in the form of ego at the company coming from one source on the executive team. If you happen to be in the clique, then you are good - you will be paid well, receive a nice title, and get an opportunity to shine. If you are not - stay under the radar. The management team is VERY young without a whole lot of experience (they do have some). So training and professional development must come from yourself for the most part. Compensation is not competitive.

Pros

I worked as a consultant for Connect First before joining their motley crew watching some immense, business-altering (and culture redirection) interactions happen - hence a big reason why I joined. The good news is, each decision after August of 2016 was made with significant intention to address the known dysfunctions - gender bias included - and from that point forward made the right decisions to improve *everything*. A big part of that was manifesting change that comes from employee feedback, new leadership that is positive and pro-active, actions that honor the culture, and more transparency as to the roadmap of the future - particularly how everyone plays a part in getting there. They've since hired a variety of people that embody their dedication to change, from more diversity and equality in the workplace - to women in leadership, so that's really promising. Another Pro is that everyone cares about the well-being of everyone else. That core attribute of caring is a big driver in how they hire, too. No more self-serving individuals that are out on their own making decisions without the understanding of the affects on the rest of the company. Needless to say, progress is being made and the traction is significant.

Cons

Just the natural limitations that come from running lean, mean and wearing lots of hats. There are plans for great (big) things that are progressing along, but you definitely feel the occasional burst of work that can be overwhelming at moments, but nothing that doesn't resolve itself. Not really a con, but if you're not comfortable with quick (and lots of) change and thinking on your feet, this is probably not the right company for you.
