Great Experience, Terrible Pay - Crew Leader Conservation Corps Employee Review

I feel valued by Conservation Corps. They are responsive to staff feedback and offer competitive salaries and benefits to staff. If I want to change something in my area, I feel empowered to do so.

CCMI could have more efficient systems and processes. They could be clearer about priorities and how to influence decision-making.

Learned a lot of new habitat management skills (chainsaw, herbicide application, wildlife surveying, etc).

Some of the area leads (whichever program your crew was partnered with) were inattentive and unhelpful. Also its a conservation corps position so the pay was mediocre and the vacation time was poor.
