Pros

Working at Consilince Software is good experience. They have a good understanding of their product and what they are trying to do with it. They are actively seeking new customers and are always looking for new market areas to expandinto. They are focused on customer satisfaction and retention.

Cons

Job growth opportunities are fairly stagnant as they are being integrated into the Xerox Company Structure. Loss some of that small company feel when acquired by Xerox and HR integration is chaotic at best. Lots of job turn over of current longtime employees.

Pros

Very smart developers, great opportunities for career advancement, interesting work

Cons

Consilience is a growing company, so at times your workload is higher than it would be in a similar job at a larger company.

Pros

If you're looking for a job right out of college, the pay will probably be decent.

Cons

The President lives by a "shut up, you have a job now get back to work" mentality, does not seem to value his employees and micro-manages. He's made jokes about firing employees before, because apparently it was "funny". Junior to senior employees are underpaid by around 20-30% from market value - because of this there's a high level of mediocrity in the development staff. Low salaries coupled with the fact that they are using a fairly archaic stack, leaves little incentive for engineers looking for a challenge to join. They've recently been purchased by Xerox and from what I understand the employees that have stuck around are having their benefits slashed. Most of the original employees left before the acquisition and after hearing about how those that have stayed are being taken care of, I don't blame them for not sticking around.
