Just to be clear, this is just my experience and opinion, and it might not be the same for everyone who works there.
This job was a constant headache because there was no clear information about how we'd get paid. On top of that, people actually had to pay to get "trained," and the commission payments were all over the place. Honestly, the way the pay was set up felt pretty unfair. To even make a decent $90k, you had to sell almost a million dollars in containers. When you're only making $50 to $150 per container, it starts to feel like the longer you worked there, the less likely you were to actually make good money – almost like a pyramid scheme.
What's even more frustrating is that I knew someone who brought in a deal worth over $100,000 and barely saw 10% of the commission they were supposed to get from that. It really makes you question how they handle payments.
The leadership there thinks they understand sales, but their only real strategy seems to be pushing for volume. The only advice you ever got was basically, "Just pick up the phone and dial." There wasn't much focus on actual sales strategy beyond making a ton of calls.
On top of all that, any discount offered to win a deal comes straight out of the sales rep's commission. There's absolutely no room for negotiation if you actually want to make decent money. It feels like you're constantly having to choose between closing a deal and getting paid fairly.
