Pros
True MNC, with Continental AG effectively communicating its Vision & interest. It has invested a good money to setup a global R&D hub for supporting SW development projects for OEMs & a manufacturing plant to cater local OEM with components. One of the leading Tier 1 suppliers in India & a tough competitor to Bosch, Delphi & Denso My rating 3 (Neutral), is only w.r.t corporate values & policies... But local...
Cons
Continental has a history of acquisitions & mergers (Teves, Temic, Motorola, Siemens VDO etc.). Hence, processes are not adapted to make it unified. Manufacturing plant processes (mainly suited for production) are far for compliance to SW Services unit. Support processes like HR, Admin, Purchase, IT, Logistics etc. are very primitive & uncontrolled. There is no Open Door policy (at least in India) as claimed by the Global Leaders. Huge Corporate Cartels manage administration. Voices for any conflicts to code of conduct, corruption, non-compliance of processes, and w.r.t protection of intellectual property will be suppressed. SW services division is getting worse w.r.t culture from past 1 year as there was a complete re-organization... Change for getting worse... TRUST is absolutely missing between employees & management In one phrase, "Systems are susceptible for personnel change". Ideally Systems should be independent of people change. However, this is far from reality.
