Pros

The only pros were literally working with aviation and the people that came through the doors.

Cons

PLEASE heed everyone's advice on not working here. It's not a professional environment! Horrible management from top to bottom. A VERY favoritism based company and it is blatant. Watched people get framed into trouble and watched myself begin to receive the same treatment. If you are not a friend of a friend there, you will not succeed. No matter how much you try and go above and beyond your always made to look like a slacker so others can jump on top. Literally watched coworkers and myself get yelled and cussed at by other coworkers for something that wasn't our fault and instead of managers stopping it they let it continue only to discipline the people getting yelled at instead of the person with the bad attitude The drama here is unimaginable. It finds you. You can't run from it. I enjoyed working with maybe one co worker and the rest were condescending kids who thought they owned the place and got everything they wanted because they were part of the "clique" Only conversation at work you got was customers because everyone you worked with snobbed you and treated you like you were stupid. Absolutely no room for advancement no matter how much you are promised. You will get thrown on every single weekend, every single holiday, and every type of shift imaginable while the clique members had every one off. You will be told so many lies only to start work and figure out you get none of the things originally discussed in the interview. I value my reputation too much to allow it to be deteriorated by something to this extent.

Pros

As a mechanic, you have job security. The planes break down constantly due to band-aid repairs to make the next flight.

Cons

The airline's customer reviews are a direct reflection of the upper management. They do not care about you or your time. If the plane isn't fixed, you're not leaving. You can leave work after a 20-hour shift, and they expect you to be back on-site in 4-6 hours. Mx planning has no clue what they are doing, and Mx control knows it. They will schedule every inspection for one day because it makes their jobs easier. They have no clue what the inspections they schedule actually entail or how long they take. They will not tell you that your time off is vested only. If you accept the job in January, you will not have any vacation days to use for the entire year. If you accept the job in November, you will have the days earned from Nov - Dec to use the following year. Have kids? Don't worry, they won't hesitate to call you into work at 4 am on Christmas Day.
