My personal experience with Convergint is one that has had many ups and downs. I have been with the company for almost 12 years and throughout those 12 years I’ve been in a number of different positions. Previous positions had management that wasn’t so great, didn’t want you to Grow and explore new opportunities. However, I am now in a position where I have the opportunity to talk with colleagues across the nation and I am so blessed and proud to be a valued member of the company. Leadership listens to your concerns and takes them very seriously. I wrote a letter to HR about a concern that I had that affected the entire company. HR took the letter and presented it to the Board of Directors and I received a personal call from the president of the company explaining how much sense my letter made and they are in the process of changing the entire culture of the company because of my letter. It’s truly incredible. I feel like people listen to what I have to say and care about what I say. I genuinely feel like I make a difference in the company. I honestly do not see myself ever working anywhere else.

In my previous position, a challenge that I had was that I didn’t feel as though there were any growth opportunities and I felt as though work was continuously getting piled onto my plate. So much so that I actually almost quit. However after I almost quit, I was given the opportunity to change roles and in doing that I experienced a totally different side of Convergint. So my issue there was resolved. Another concern is the volume and speed at which we purchase and acquire companies. Sometimes those companies are very much counter-culture. Which makes it a challenge when trying to work with them. That isn’t the case for all acquisitions. But some.
